      The Atomic Bombing OF Los Angeles 

                                                                Chapter 1

Chris Woodley and his wife Christine were sleeping in bed when it happen they thought it was all just an earthquake or a bad dream at first or maybe it was the army testing nuke missiles then he looked out the bedroom window and saw the glowing red sky and said that was no test and then they knew what just had to happened it was no test this time and the world has just came to an end less than fifteen seconds the world was all gone for them and then they thought they were both was dead at first when their apartment floor came crashing down landing them on the floor of the apartment below but they weren't dead just it and they both were very much alive. 

They said we must be the last two survivors alive in the city I ain’t seen a single moment of a person or a thing all day. As they drove by the movie studio lot it seemed so dead I reckon nobody was making any movies about what just happened today as they said it as a joke. But as far as they both knew it was no joking matter anymore. It was just like there was nobody around for miles with the city so quiet and still just like something shut down the city all at once with no traffic moving and no people stirring about it was just too frightening to think about the outcome. 

I am thinking about how we are the only people left in the city of Los Angeles alive as far as I know there must be other survivors alive in the city just like us we just have to find them. We just couldn’t be the only survivors that were left behind and still living in the city there had to be other people that were left alive in the city as well but they must be hiding and scared and too afraid to come out just like us. Chris and his wife said I have never seen the city so dead and restless before it gives me the creeps it's just like I know somebody is watching us at all times. 

I had never seen it so quiet before either and not seeing anybody but knowing they are there it gives me cold chills it was just like somebody just turn off the time of day when the bomb dropped on the city everything just stop everywhere around no radio signal I can’t pick up a radio station anywhere and the TV, was just as dead I could not pick up TV broadcast all-day and that was not normal for a Friday morning there was always some kind of TV broadcast on if it was just the weather and there was not ever any kind of warning before the bomb drop or after. I knew I had to get some guns and ammunition soon as I could because if there was anybody left in the world anymore they were no longer friendly any more no longer looking out for the other person just looking out for number one themself. 

People were no longer called citizens they were called looters That meant a man was no longer living by the rules of law far as people knew they were living in a world that had no law anymore which meant a person was now living like rats and that meant you better be ready to kill or be killed in order to survive which mean we are now living in the king of the jungle now that means it going to be hard as hell to survive anymore and that meant we got to scrounge around for supplies by day and hope we have enough strength to stay awake at night and that meant no more sleep of a carefree world anymore and staying on your toes and being alert at all times no more every one being friendly and that means everybody you come across now on was going to be your sworn enemy and there will be plenty more days like this for now on until the world gets back on its feet and being civilized nation once again. 

I don’t if it is this bad all over the world I only know what it is like right here in the city of Los Angeles now and it ain’t good to be out there at night because there is no telling what we will run into anymore because the city has made a change in the last few hours it ain’t for the good. All at once, Christine screamed and said look that and as Chris turned, he saw nothing he said look at what she said it was just there only for a few minutes and it scare me to death what was it, honey, it was something like out of a Horry movie a zombie-like person but only his head was all cover in green slime looking like an alien from another planet that can’t be there no way a person would live after that blast of radiation if he wasn’t cover in some source of shield-like being in firefighter clothes or like being in a car or in an apartment like we were he would of have been burnt to a crisp by now and not moving around on the street. 

If we didn’t have our car parked in the apartment housing garage we wouldn’t be driving around like we are right now and a good thing we had the car filled up with gas yesterday because we still got near a full tank of gas in the car today and we got to make it last for as long as we can and our trip got to be short one until I come up with some way to shielding us from the radiation. 

Because no person can make it if they are out in it longer than fifteen seconds because they will be dead from the heat it must be near a hundred and fifty degrees outside right now and getting more hotter by the hour I would say we are at least going up by five degrees every hour and say by this time tonight we will all be dead if we don’t come up with some kind of solution to stop this radiation  Heatwave. If it rains right now it would be just like acid coming down it would burn right throw you no matter if you were inside a car or not you will be just as dead. What do we do Christine said I don’t know honestly at this moment I am stumped with no idea on what to do about this such a high rise in heat temperature.

Honey, I know what we need and we can only get it if we can manage some way to get Ourselves to the army base they will have what we need. What are you talking about? What we need is a fucking army tank it can take heat and damage and have plenty of ammo in it and guns attached to it we can fight all the way across the country until we find a safe place to hold up at. Your right Honey we need to make our way to the army base but we might just have a little trouble of getting in and getting that tank if there are still soldiers alive out there at the arm force base. They just ain’t going to let us walk onto an army base and still a tank without stopping us. We cross that bridge after we get there. Okay, I am all for it but I am not for a suicide mission we take a look first and if it looks deserted then we move in and take the tank.

We will have to stop by a store and grab some food but we got to be quick about it like move in and get only what we need like food flashlights and guns and ammo ‘ first aid kits ‘ meds you understand. I do understand your honey and that sounds good to me we have a plan. let's hit up Joe's Zippy shopping mall they will have what we need it is easy to get in and out of we can part up in front of the mall doors. That sounds good and that is where we will go and they will have all the stuff we need they should they are the biggest shopping mall in the state.

Shit, some darn idiot parked his car right in the way we either have to go another way because this way is blocked or we can try to push the car out of our way. Honey look we can cut through that person's yard and we will only be half a block away from the shopping mall okay I hope this person doesn’t mind if we drive through their shrubs in their front yard.

Honey that ain’t good Joe’s shopping mall lights are still on there can be people still in there looting the place or maybe hostel survivors in there. I think once we get there you stay in the car and keep it a running while I go in and have a look around to check the place out first I might have a make a fast run out of there and I would feel better if you was in the car ready for a fast take off. If I ain’t out there in twenty minutes you come in after me so we can make a fast getaway. I don't feel comfortable about the whole thing it seemed a little creepy to me. We can go and hit another place that will have what we need honey me and you both know the shopping mall is about the only place in town that will have everything that we will need all in one stop. But it ain’t worth getting killed over or getting caught by whatever is in there waiting on us. Honey ain’t we letting our minds run away with us a little bit maybe they left the shopping mall lights on and maybe they were left on before the bombs drop and that would explain why the lights are still on. No that can't be the store timer would have cut them off before now because they're on a timer delay because that is the way all store’s lights work like because they're all on timer delays and they would have been off by now. 

No, they got to be on for another reason. No, maybe your right maybe the shopping mall is full of aliens and they're just waiting inside to grab us and take us back up to their planet. Honey, you can make jokes if you want to but this ain't funny. What the hell can I do about it I can’t find out what going on if I don’t walk in there can I. Honey, I am just saying be careful and watch your back don’t I always. 

As he was inside the mall he saw why the mall lights was still on it was not because they were left on from the night before or because there was people or aliens inside the mall they were still on because somebody left in a hurry the night before and cause the store fire sprinkler system to stay on and there was alarms going off all over inside the mall and the whole mall floor was just covered in water where it flooded the mall floor from the sprinkler system and items was just soaking wet to wear a lot of the items has started to rot on the shelf to where some items where so spoiled they smells like dead fish it had that damp mold smell all over inside the mall and it was going to get worse as the heat goes alone and one good thing that the air conditioner was still working inside the mall but all the mall freezers were down to where stuff had came unfrozen and fly's and maggots were all over the foods inside the coolers it looks like the coolers have been down for months, not just one night. 

I started putting items together like a bunch of can food and a couple of flashlights and a hammer ‘ some meds that were still good and a couple of first aid kits and the last thing I grabbed was a couple of machetes but something was going on inside the mall I could not figure it out at first on what it was because there was no guns or ammunition inside the mall anywhere to be found. I put all the items that I fouds that I needed into a shopping cart and push them outside to the car and said to something strange went on last night inside the mall and Christine said what was it something very strange all the light was still on because somebody causes the sprinkler system to stay on all night and there was no guns or ammunition to be found anywhere inside the mall sporting goods stores. I guess we are lucky enough that I found what we got before somebody else got to the items before I found them. I guess we will find no guns or ammunition that will still be lying around anywhere in the city. Christine said how about the police department won’t they still have plenty of guns and ammunition lying around? No, they want because if there are still any survivors alive in the city it would be one the first places that people would hit upon for guns and ammunition.

I think we need just to head south and get as far as we can away from LA as we can then hit smaller towns that seem to be in out-of-way places and then we might find the guns and ammunition that we are looking for. We can’t do that honey-like you said we don’t have time for that we got to hit that army base before this evening when you said the heat will be too hot for us to live with. Your right but you know we can’t hit the army base without weapons and ammunition we got to have plenty of firepower when we go in to make our move to take over the army base. 

Are you trying to say we need to get to Mexico as fast as we can and why Mexico? Because in Mexico we will be far enough away from the bomb radiation that we might actually make it to live safely? You know the border will just be jammed with traffic and border patrol to stop us from entering Mexico and they will just send us back and tell us we don’t have a legal enough reason to enter Mexico.

That is where the tank comes in handy at because if we are in the army tank they can’t stop us and we will take them by surprise and no matter what they do they can’t stop us from entering Mexico. 

I got a thinking about it and decided we will go and hit Burkly security office they will still maybe have some guns and ammunition lying around and maybe looter ain’t hit the place just yet and maybe we will get lucky enough to get in fast and get out before anybody knows we are there. Will go in there from the ally and bust the lock on the back door and we will have to be quiet as we can when we are doing it and move around as quickly as we can trying to not make too much noise and draw any attention to ourselves as we are doing it in the process of laying low.

But that palm downtown honey and it’s right in the middle of the business district I know that honey but we have no other choice except to go there to find what we need. I guess you are right about that we seem to have no other choice. 

Their head security officer at Burkly security office is a guy named Mark Stoughton and if he is still alive he will help us out by getting us guns and ammunition. Why should a guy name Mark that just happened to be the head security officer of Burkly security offices and why should he help us out by getting us guns and ammunition? Because he is a cousin on my father's side of the family and we were always close friends with each other ever since high school and his wife Luann and they got a nine-year-old son named Bill and a seven-year-old daughter name Georgiana. Why didn't you ever mention anything about them before? Because we have never been in trouble like this before where I needed help like this and that is why I am telling you about them now. It doesn’t matter he probably ain’t even alive anymore he is probably just as dead as this town is right now. You're probably right but I still got to find out if he is still alive or not.

As they were driving across town they could see a police car going straight throw town with its siren on and its lights flashing as it was heading toward downtown I guess we will run into some company when we get down there. Do you think that was the law driving across town? No, I think it was looters driving a police car looking for other survivors to rob. Will I guess after all we ain’t the only survivors alive in the city after all? I guess not that police car approve that to us. I just wondering where it was heading to. I guess we could follow them and find out where they are heading to. I don't think that's such a good idea. You know they're probably armed with guns and we're not. I think I got a pretty good idea of where they are going to anyways. I would say they were heading to Max Place. 

Why would they go to a pawn shop? 

To get more guns and ammunition honey. It just happens to be the biggest and most armed pawn shop in town. It is just one of the places I would hit if I was an armed looter and looking for more firepower I would hit more places well known for having plenty of guns and ammunition and they have a whole back room full of Illegal explosives as well that place is built like an armed fort. Just the right place for a bunch of looters can hold up there for Months and it even haves a bomb shelter in the back room where it goes nearly two hundred feet underground and they also said old man Max filled that bomb shelter full of food and plenty of liquor that would last a bunch of people for months. 

How do you know all this honey? 

It was my construction Company and metal factory that built all this for him so he would never be afraid of getting killed when and if they ever dropped bombs on LA and the deal we had with him was that he would let the whole community use the bomb shelter with him if there was ever an emergency where they needed it. My guess is the looters heard all about the bomb shelter and they are heading right to it. 

I guess now the army base is out of the question as well because it is probably full of looters as well. You are probably right but we got to go somewhere and it doesn’t matter where we go to. We will probably run into looters anyways if it ain’t on the way it will be after we get where we are going to and that will be anywhere we go to remember that as long we are together we will always be safer than being alone without each other we would have nothing.

I understand that honey and you are right as long we are together ‘ I know in my heart we will make it. 

It was a year later before the world got back to normal again and it took the CBC to bring the world back on to its feet again and the looting still didn’t stop right away until the CRN stepped into the picture of killing all looters on sight and putting a bounty on their head and making it legal to kill any looter that was caught to be shot and executed on sight. This went on now for three years and it still ain’t stop completely yet but it has slowed down quite a bit since the CRN took over the operation of stopping all looting. I meant Bryant Allen that was in charge of CRN operation and he said he doesn’t see looting stopping any time soon in the near future and it was something that we were going to have to live with. 

But a year later the CRN operation came to a standstill when the world got destroyed once again and looting came the way of life again and the only way to make it was by looting for what you needed in order to stay alive.

I guess Bryant Allen was right after all looting was something that all upper-class citizens were going to have to live with looting and looters because it was the only way of life now.  

Since my husband Chris got killed five years ago when a looter shot him for robbing a security office for guns and ammunition and found there wasn’t any to be had it was a completely useless killing. 

I have lived alone since that day not trusting anyone or anybody I saw how fast a world can change into a nightmare of hell and I am still living in it right now.
